Artist Statement

As an artist, I create in many mediums including printmaking, ink drawing, encaustic painting, crochet, ceramics and mixed mediums. I am inspired by our natural world, its distinct and perceptible patterns, colours and textures. Both ordered and chaotic in construction, my work embodies elements of time, space and chance. The organization and layering, generates inner structures that form the basis of my work. Since November 2012, much of my artistic energies have been focused on creating in three dimensions, primarily with clay. I make both functional and sculptural work.
